Hi Eddy,Kun and girls and everyone at home,
I wanted to let you know that I arrived safely after a pleasant flight with good movies and food. AUSTRALIAN MOVIE REMEMBER ME about an aspiring young country boy/musician, emotionally moving and a beautiful story of a boy and his pet cheetah in Africa – Duma – lovely movie – this one will make Kun cry. If you get the chance to watch them, forgot the third one Ondine – a romance set in Ireland – very interesting – one for Kudzai.
Nothing much else to do on a long flight.
I met some other travellers, two women with cancer Stephanie from Duncraig and Erica with her farmer husband, John from NSW, going to visit children living overseas. We shared information about alternative ‘cures’ – interesting and a little sad.
My driver, David, was waiting at heathrow to drive me to Monmouth – it took about three hours of discussing local politics, overseas migrants and the weather before we arrived in a small white holden diesel car – good for the environment. Amanda came flying out the front door as we arrived with a huge smile and great big hug. It felt like coming home, as you do to familiar places and faces.
I have arrived at a very auspicious time. The local festival is on in Monmouth with bands playing, choirs singing and a hot air ballon light display with fireworks on Saturday night. We saw a retro band yesterday and are going to hear the Welsh Choir tonight. In the meantime I have been guzzling down fresh rasberries and fruit smoothies, the berry fruits are in season and I am in food heaven.
Gaz is working on a film score and frantically busy – sounds of the track are really interesting and I can visualize what he is doing since he showed me the trailer for the film which is a documentary about a famous Indian child marathon runner. Gaz and Amanda are travelling to New York at the end of September and will be attending the launching of the film at the Sundance Movie Festival somewhere in the middle of the US, I think near Salt Lake City?
I am maxing and relaxing and hope this finds everyone well and happy.
